Sergio Merida is a dedicated professional in Special Education, bringing a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to his work. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders and is completing his Master's degree in Special Education, complemented by a Certificate specializing in Mild to Moderate Special Education. Throughout his career, Sergio has worked closely with Lawyers, School Districts, and Regional Center Vendors to advocate for families, ensuring they secure essential services from Regional Centers and School Districts. Sergio's extensive collaboration with various School Districts has been instrumental in providing invaluable support to children who may need accommodations. His experience extends to serving as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Adult Residential Facilities (ARF), where his commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Developmental Disabilities is evident. Currently, he partners with two organizations that work closely with Regional Centers, delivering crucial services in ARF and offering Respite Care for families and individuals. With deep expertise and unwavering dedication, Sergio Merida is a trusted advocate, ensuring families receive the support and services they need for their children. His professional journey reflects a passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of those with disabilities.

What does F.A.C.T. stand for?

F.A.C.T. stands for Family Advocacy Consulting Team—but we also like to say our name is FACT because we focus on the FACTs to get students the best resources.

FACT helps families navigate the special education system to ensure students receive the services and support they need. We advocate for students by working with parents, schools, and professionals to develop effective education plans.

How much do your services cost?

We offer straightforward and transparent pricing, which can be found on our Services Page. Our goal is to provide the most affordable advocacy possible. However, we understand that even with our low costs, some families may need additional assistance. Please ask us about our payment plan options or our sliding scale pricing based on income.
Who can benefit from FACT’s services?

Any family with a child who may need additional support in school can benefit from FACT. Whether your child has an IEP, a 504 Plan, or is struggling without proper accommodations, we’re here to help.
Does FACT provide legal representation?

FACT is not a law firm, but we specialize in advocacy, consulting, and guiding families through the special education process. If legal action is necessary, we can refer you to trusted attorneys who specialize in education law.
Do you only work with public schools?

While we primarily assist families navigating public school special education services, we can also provide guidance for private school situations and homeschooling support where applicable.
